Boholana Helper in HK Dies After Fainting While Cleaning Employer’s Car

A Filipina domestic worker has died on January 20 after she collapsed while cleaning her employer’s car.

According to The SUN, the woman, only identified as Elma, 43, was found lying unconscious on the first floor of a carpark in Wo Che Estate, Shatin District at 7:49am. She was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital but was declared dead after being revived initially.

The Assistance to Nationals section of the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong said Elma’s son, 21, was expected to arrive in Hong Kong to arrange the repatriation of his mother’s remains.

Likewise, ATN is also preparing documents needed for the repatriation of the deceased while the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration will begin processing her funeral and death benefits.

Police authorities said people in the carpark who saw the maid lying unconscious beside a bucket and her cleaning equipment called an ambulance. An investigation is ongoing over the cause of her death.
