A reminder to Filipino domestic helper applicants: do not pay placement fees.
POEA administrator Hans Leo Cacdac made the statement to deter domestic workers from paying fees to employment agencies. This is in accordance with the order made by Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz.
Ang household o domestic worker ay hindi dapat singilin o magbayad ng placement fee. Isumbong sa POEA ang tiwaling recruiter.

He urged everyone to report to POEA offending agencies who continue to ask for exorbitant fees so the government agency can exert appropriate action.

During Mr. Cacdac’s term, several job agencies have been stripped of or suspended their licenses for various violations such as non-issuance of official receipts, failure to assist distressed OFWs, and illegal recruitment. Recruitment agencies are also being warned against charging placement fees to domestic helper job applicants.
