Under Compulsory Insurance Coverage for Agency-Hired Migrant Workers, beneficiaries of overseas Filipino workers who succumb to ailments while under contract in their jobs abroad can avail of the $10,000 insurance coverage.
Here’s how to file for claims:
1. The beneficiary or recruitment agency will notify the agency-hired compulsory insurance provider of the death of the member covered by the benefit.
2. With the assistance of the recruitment agency, the beneficiaries will fill out claim form provided by the insurance provider. Beneficiaries will also submit the following required documents:
a. Authenticated death certificate
b. Any Philippine government-issued ID or document proving the identidy and relation of the beneficiary to the OFW.
3. Once documents are submitted, the insurance company evaluates the claim and prepares the amount of payment due.
4. Within 10 working days from filing of complete documents, the insurance company pays the beneficiaries the benefit worth US$10,000.
