Residence visa applications now require original documents as the General Director for Residence and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) will no longer accept photo copies of supporting documents.
According to Emirates247, the new policy has been enforced effective since last week at the GDRFA’s Dubai centres and its headquarters.
However, implementation of the new rules will be strictly enforced at typing centers beginning next month.
“GRFAD urges its customers to bring original documents when submitting applications. Photocopies will no longer be accepted,” it said in an advertisement.
“This procedure is effective from October 14 and will be made compulsory at all service centres including headquarters, GDRFAD service centres and typing centres by November 15, 2015,” it noted.
When submitting an application, applicants are required to bring Emirates Identity card as well as their sponsor’s bank account details.
“It’s important to note that the Emirates ID of the sponsor and applicant, and the International Bank Account Number (IBAN), should be presented when applying.
“GDRFAD regrets receiving applications submitted without original documents from said date,” it noted.
