Canada's Express Entry Profile Validity Reminder

More Canada Updates

Candidates for Canada’s Express Entry immigration program are reminded that their profiles are only valid for twelve months from the date of submission to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Candidates who have not received an Invitation-to-Apply (ITA) for Permanent Residence and who are still interested in immigrating to Canada must create new profiles in the Express Entry pool.

Overview of Express Entry
Launched in January 2015, Express Entry is Canada’s new immigration application management system. It replaced the previous immigration application queue with a “pool” in which candidates are ranked in order to prioritize applications.

Affected Parties
Candidates who created profiles in Express Entry when the system was launched but who have not yet received an ITA will need to create new profiles once their old profiles expire. All candidates should be aware that profiles expire after twelve months.

What Should Candidates Do?
Candidates may only have one profile in the Express Entry pool at any given time. Candidates should wait until their old profiles have expired before creating a new profile.

Candidates who wish to create new profiles before their old profile has expired must first withdraw their existing profile.
