Canada, like any other wealthy countries, provides several types of benefits to its citizens and residents. One of these aids include a variety of benefits and monetary assistances for people with disabilities to help them as well as their families. These include the following programs:
- Canada Incapacity Savings Grant. This type of government grant is one that the government will deposit onto the beneficiary’s Registered Disability Savings Plans (RDSP) to help him or her save. Furthermore, beneficiaries are those who are incapableof working regularly at any job because of his or her disability. In order for one to qualify for this benefit, he or she must meet the following requirements: (a.) have a serious and long standing disability, (b.) not older than 65, and (c.) meet the CPP contribution requirements.
- Child Incapacity Benefit. This type of government funded benefit is a tax-free assistance amounting to as much as $2,650.00 annually, approximately $220.83 monthly. This aid goes to families with a child who is less than 18 years of age with a serious and prolonged impairment in either physical or mental capabilities.
- Disability Award. This type of benefit is a tax-exempt cash compensation for members of the Canadian Forces who were injured or contacted an illness as a result of militaryassistance.
- Incapacity Pension. This kind of pension is allotted to eligible civilian, members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, members of the Canadian Forces, War Service Veteran, and Veteran Canadian Forces.
- Education financing for individuals with incapacity. This aid or assistance includes a number of links to amenities, assistance, and even programs to help not only people within capacities, but also their family.
- Federal excise gasoline tax refund program. This program allows a person with mobility impairment to refund some of the gas he or she purchased. This benefit was allotted for these people because their impairment prevents the beneficiary from using the public transportation to commute.
- Canada Pension Plan children’s benefits. These are benefits allocated for children of either disabled or deceased Canada Pension Plan contributors.
