Passport Application and Renewal Procedure at Philippine Consulate in Dubai

One of the reasons Filipinos visit consular offices is to renew passports, pay fees and inquire about labor and other related issues.

In Dubai, the Philippine Consulate General has streamlined its operations to handle the volume of visitors. One of the measures implemented is to require appointment for passport processing.

Here are the steps for Filipinos who wish to apply for new or replacement/renewal of old passports.

PROCEDURE FOR PASSPORT APPLICATION or RENEWAL
1. Set an appointment online – click here.
2. On date of appointment, fill out E-passport Application Form – click here.
3. Proceed to Passport Processing Area [1]
4. Proceed to Cashier [2]
5. Proceed to Passport Encoding Area [3]
6. Proceed to Releasing Section on date of release[4]

REQUIREMENTS FOR PASSPORT APPLICATION/RENEWAL

  • Appointment
  • Personal appearance
  • Old passport
  • Photocopy of Data page and Visa page

Requirements for Minors (18 years old and below)

  • Appointment (NOTE: Appointment is not required for children ages 5 years old and below.)
  • E-passport Application Form. accomplished by the accompanying parent(s);
  • Copy of child’s passport, Data and Visa page, (1 copy);
  • Copy of accompanying parent(s) passport’s data page, (1 copy);
  •  Personal appearance of child and parent(s).

Requirements for Babies/Infants

  • Parents do not need to get appointment for the passport application of their infants. E-Passport Application Form, accomplished by either parent (if out of wedlock, by mother);
  • Report of Birth Form, (6 copies);
  • Original English Birth Certificate duly authenticated by UAE Ministry of Health and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, (6 copies);
  • Photocopies of the Passport of each parent, (6 copies, data page only);
  • DFA authenticated NSO Marriage Certificate or NSO Report of Marriage, (6 copies)
  • Personal appearance of Filipino parent(s) and infant/child;

Note:

  • If married in the Philippines, parties must present original DFA authenticated (red ribbon) NSO Marriage Certificate.
  • If married abroad, parties must present original DFA authenticated (red ribbon) NSO Report of Marriage. For those who have not filed a Report of Marriage please see requirements for Report of Marriage.
  • For those married at the Philippine Consulate-Dubai, the Original Marriage Contract may be submitted. However, if the marriage occurred more than one year ago, applicant must present an NSO copy of the same.

Fee: Passport Extension (same day release):

EXTENSION OF VALIDITY OF PASSPORTS FOR EXPIRED/NO LONGER VALID (LESS THAN 6 MONTHS)

Note: Beginning 01 January 2014, the Consulate General shall no longer provide passport extension except in cases involving medical attention and death of a relative. Both cases require proof/ evidence for consideration.

  • Applications start at 10AM. No appointment needed. Proof of emergency required.
  • Fill out Application for Amendment/Extension of Validity of Passport
  • Payment [2]
  • Proceed to Passport Extension Area [3]. Transaction is complete once you receive your extended passport.
  • FEE: Passport Extension (same day release): 120 AED + Affidavit 100 AED

Requirements:

  • Personal appearance
  • Old passport
  • Photocopy (2 sets) of Data page, Visa page and copy of supporting documents for reason for extension: death or medical certificates, 1 pcs. passport size picture

NOTE: Passport extension is not applicable for electronic passports or e-passports (with chip logo). Please be informed these are passports issued from mid 2010 to date with serial numbers starting with EA, EB and EC. It has a small gold chip logo at the cover.

AMENDMENT OF ENTRY

  • Fill out Application for Amendment Form – click here.
  • Proceed to Passport Processing Area [1]
  • Payment [2]
  • If expedited (same day release) come back on designated time [1]. If regular process, proceed to Releasing Section [4] on date of release.

Requirements:

  • Personal appearance
  • Old passport
  • Photocopy of Data page, Visa page, 1 pcs. passport size picture, AND

a. If amendment is from Single to Married:

  • Original DFA authenticated (red ribbon) NSO Marriage Certificate, if married in the Philippines.
  • Original DFA authenticated (red ribbon) NSO Report of Marriage, if married abroad.
  • NOTE: For those married at the Philippine Consulate-Dubai, the Original Marriage Contract may be submitted. However, if the marriage occurred more than one year ago, applicant must present an NSO copy of the same.

b. If amendment is from Married to Single:

  • Death of spouse: a. Original NSO Death Certificate of spouse authenticated by DFA b. Original NSO Birth Certificate of the applicant authenticated by DFA.
  • Annulment: a. Original Annotated NSO Marriage Certificate (with remarks that the marriage was null and void) authenticated by DFA b. Original Court Finality/Decision authenticated by DFA c. Original NSO Birth Certificate of the applicant authenticated by DFA.

Fees:

  • Expedite Extension (same day release): 120 AED
  • Regular Extension (2 days after): 80 AED

LOST PASSPORT

Procedure is the same as Application of Passport. No need to secure appointment date.

Requirements

  • Police Report on Lost Passport (with English Translation) plus 2 photocopies;
  • Duly accomplished Affidavit of Loss (downloadable forms) plus 2 photocopies;
  • Three (3) photocopies of lost passport and NSO Birth Certificate authenticated by DFA
  • FEES: MRRP (Green) and MRP (Maroon) = 360 AED
  • E-Passports= 600 AED
  • Affidavit of Loss = 100 AED

RELEASING OF PASSPORTS
On date of release, bring old passport and receipt at Releasing Section.
