Entry Restrictions for Travelers to UAE Due to COVID-19

All flights to the UAE are now suspended until further notice.


Entry restrictions
Only the following passengers are permitted to enter the United Arab Emirates (UAE):

  1. UAE citizens
  2. First degree relatives of UAE nationals holding a valid UAE residence visa
  3. Domestic workers accompanying their UAE national sponsors

The entry of all valid visa-holding residents returning to the UAE has been suspended. Those who are currently outside the UAE are advised to contact the UAE diplomatic mission in their respective host countries for all necessary support to facilitate their return.

Additional entry requirements
All passengers arriving from Mainland China must have departed from Beijing (PEK)

Exit restrictions
UAE nationals and UAE passport holders are not permitted to leave the UAE

Quarantine measures
Passengers who meet one or more of the following criteria are required to undergo a compulsory 14-day quarantine immediately upon arrival:

  • UAE citizens and residents

All passengers must undertake a medical screening and a COVID-19 test upon arrival in the UAE.

Visa restrictions

  • Entry visas have been suspended for all foreign nationals
  • The entry of all valid visa-holding residents returning to the UAE has been suspended. Those who are currently outside the UAE are advised to contact the UAE diplomatic mission in their respective host countries for all necessary support to facilitate their return
  • Passengers are strongly advised to check the validity of their visa online prior to arriving at the airport

Visa restriction exemptions

  • Diplomatic passport holders
  • Passengers with visas issued prior to 17 March 2020
  • Passport holders of:
    • Australia, New Zealand
    • Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Demark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy (Rome), Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Vatican, United Kingdom
    • People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea
    • United States, Canada
