An annual report of a Saudi engineering group revealed that a mere 6% of its citizens comprise the total number of engineers registered in the Kingdom.
The Saudi Council of Engineers said that out of 144,157 registered engineers in its database, only 9,122 are Saudis.

The report said that there are 2,150 registered engineering and consulting companies, with 1,800 offices in the contracting and construction sector.
