Filipino Buffet Restaurant in Vegas Shut Down Amid Health Hazard

Glenmel Cuisine, a Filipino buffet restaurant located at 1436 E. Charleston Blvd. on the east side of Las Vegas, was ordered to immediately close down by the Southern Nevada Health District after inspectors discovered an imminent health hazard.

SNHD inspectors conducted a visit on Wednesday, April 20 found an interruption of electrical service, which called for the immediate closure of the restaurant.

The inspection also discovered spoiled food, substandard pest control measures, unposted grade signs, food unprotected from potential contamination, improperly cleaned equipment, among others.

A previous inspection conducted on January 20 resulted in an A grade.

SNHD conducts random inspections at food facilities at least once a year. Results are then posted online a few days after inspection. Restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits are shut down. However, restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
