He said Ligaya Moore is a regular atendee of Jesus is Lord church located next to the 24-storey Grenfell Tower. Jesus is Lord is founded by the senator’s father Eddie Villanueva.

Villanueva said members of the church informed him that Moore is living alone on the building’s 21st floor.

“We’re still praying, very hopeful that we will find her,” he added.

Villanueva said Moore has family in the Philippines.

DFA spokesman Robespierre Bolivar said representatives of the Philippine embassy in the United Kingdom have already visited Filipinos taken to hospital for treatment of injuries.

Authorities are still determining the number of Filipinos affected by the fire in the building located in North Kensington, west London.

Seventeen people are confirmed to have died – six of whom have been identified – but the figure is expected to rise significantly. Twelve people remain critically ill in hospital. More than 70 others have not been accounted for, and police fear the blaze so devastating that some of them might never be identified.

“The embassy is still closely monitoring the situation and there have been appeals to the Filipino community in the UK for assistance to Filipinos who may have been affected,” Bolivar said.
