IELTS passers are then allowed to take the Computer-Based Test of Competence while in the Philippines, before being admitted to the United Kingdom for the OSCE which requires actual demonstration of a mastery of procedures in rendering nursing services, based on UK Standard Operating Procedures.
The Filipino nurses underwent at least a month of futher intensive training at Worthing Hospital in Worthing, West Sussex provided by the Western Sussex Hospital NHS Trust.
According to InterAksyon, Labor Attaché Reydeluz Conferido and Welfare Officer Esperanza Cobarrubias represented the Embassy at the recognition ceremonies. They conveyed to the successful candidates the warmest wishes of Ambassador Garcia, and his challenge for them to continue the long tradition of providing excellent service as well as the world-famous “Tender Loving Care (TLC)” of Filipino nurses that is very much appreciated by British patients.
