Jollibee to Open in UK, Italy in 2016

Jollibee is expanding its international operations as it aims to bring the Filipino food chain to the United Kingdom and Italy in 2016.

JFC Group Vice-President Dennis M. Flores made the disclosure as the company is also working to bring the renowned brand into Australia and Japan markets.

“We are present in two [continents]. In the next two years, you will see Jollibee in four continents,” Mr. Flores said. Jollibee is currently present in the Asia and the United States.

A total of 2,393 stores comprising of Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, Red Ribbon, Mang Inasal and Burger King brands operate in the Philippines under JFC, along with 630 outlets abroad.

Of over 1,000 Jollibee stores, 130 of them are located outside the Philippines, Flores said.

Appealing mostly to Filipino taste, JFC puts high priority on markets with significant Filipino population, with its flagship product Chicken Joy a catalyst for growth in such markets.

The United Kingdom and Italy have two of the biggest Filipino populations in Europe with 200,000 and 170,000 respectively.

According to Bloomberg data, JFC is ranked first in Asia and 10th in the world in terms of market capitalization among publicly listed quick service restaurants.
