A Filipina nanny was caught with prohibited drugs that she had used and was intending to sell, a court has been told.
The defendant, 41, had 0.24 grams of methamphetamines wrapped in a tissue in her hand when she was stopped by police in Al Muraqqabat in September, Dubai Criminal Court heard.
She claimed that a friend asked her to supply him with drugs worth AED300, a police officer testified before the court. The amount later increased to AED1,000.
The nanny got her drug supply from a friend and went to deliver them when she was nabbed by police. Her urine sample showed traces of banned substance.
She denied a charge of possession of drugs with intent to sell and told the court they were for her own use, admitting to consumption.
The next hearing was scheduled for on December 15.
