{"id":551,"date":"2015-01-18T01:16:50","date_gmt":"2015-01-18T01:16:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pinoy-ofw.com\/saudi-arabia\/?p=551"},"modified":"2024-07-07T02:06:20","modified_gmt":"2024-07-07T02:06:20","slug":"8-balikbayan-box-companies-in-saudi-arabia-to-avoid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pinoy-ofw.com\/saudi-arabia\/551-8-balikbayan-box-companies-in-saudi-arabia-to-avoid.html","title":{"rendered":"8 Balikbayan Box Companies in Saudi Arabia to Avoid"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A total of eight cargo forwarding companies based in Saudi Arabia\u00a0are\u00a0among companies <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/0B0ilL7KAK3i5QTYyMkRvUjRpSkU\/view\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blacklisted<\/a>\u00a0foreign forwarders and consolidators\u00a0by the Department of Trade and Industry \u00a0(DTI) in its January 2015 update.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0list was compiled by the DTI based on complaints of undelivered and mishandled balikbayan boxes. Non-delivery of balikbayan boxes\u00a0can be tracked to failure of foreign consolidators to remit a portion of fees collected from customers to Philippines-based couriers and freight forwarders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen necessary funds are not remitted to accredited Philippine agents or local freight forwarders, the shipment or the balikbayan boxes with the Bureau of Customs will not be released and will not be delivered to consignees or recipients,\u201d\u00a0according to Trade Undersecretary Victorio Mario Dimagiba.<\/p>\n<p>The eight companies blacklisted in the January 2015 update are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>WRJ Freight Forwarders (A Division of Al-Zagel Cargo)<\/li>\n<li>Caravan Cargo Agency<\/li>\n<li>Cargo Net Worldwide Services (formerly FAL-World Express Cargo)<\/li>\n<li>Global Cargo<\/li>\n<li>Kabalen Forwarders<\/li>\n<li>North and South Express Cargo<\/li>\n<li>PC Worldwide Cargo<\/li>\n<li>Sir Cargo Forwarders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-558\" src=\"http:\/\/ofwsaudi.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/balikbayan-cargo1.webp\" alt=\"balikbayan-cargo\" width=\"640\" height=\"414\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pinoy-ofw.com\/saudi-arabia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2015\/01\/balikbayan-cargo1.webp 640w, https:\/\/www.pinoy-ofw.com\/saudi-arabia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2015\/01\/balikbayan-cargo1-300x194.webp 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The DTI is implementing an accreditation scheme for sea freight forwarding companies to ensure that only qualified firms can engage in such business.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A total of eight cargo forwarding companies based in Saudi Arabia\u00a0are\u00a0among companies blacklisted\u00a0foreign forwarders and consolidators\u00a0by the Department of Trade and Industry \u00a0(DTI) in its January 2015 update.
