{"id":37715,"date":"2016-05-14T05:56:28","date_gmt":"2016-05-14T05:56:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pinoy-ofw.com\/pinas\/?p=37715"},"modified":"2024-07-28T13:41:33","modified_gmt":"2024-07-28T03:41:33","slug":"study-now-pay-later","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pinoy-ofw.com\/pinas\/37715-study-now-pay-later.html","title":{"rendered":"Study Now Pay Later (SNPL) and Other Available CHED Scholarships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>FULL SCHOLARSHIP (FS)<\/strong><br \/>\nIntended for high school graduates whose general weighted average (GWA) is at least 90% or its equivalent, and for graduating high school students whose GWA is at least 90% or its equivalent in the third year and at least 90% in the first three grading periods of the fourth year, who will enroll in identified priority courses in duly authorized public or private higher education institutions (HEIs).<\/p>\n<p><strong>PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIP (PS)<\/strong><br \/>\nIntended for high school graduates whose GWA is at least 85% or its equivalent and for graduating high school students whose GWA is at least 85% in the third year and at least 85% in the first three grading periods of the fourth year, who will enroll in identified priority courses in duly authorized public HEIs<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be a Filipino citizen;<\/li>\n<li>Must be a high school graduate; candidate for graduation; with earned units in college; passer of ALS\/PEPT;<\/li>\n<li>Must have a combined annual gross income of parents\/guardian not to exceed P300,000.00;<\/li>\n<li>Must avail of only one CHED scholarship or financial assistance program; and<\/li>\n<li>Must not be a graduate of any degree program.<br \/>\n*ln highly exceptional cases where income exceeds P300,000.00, the CHEDRO<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>StuFAPs Committee shall determine the merits of the application.<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION PROCEDURES AND DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><br \/>\nStudent applicants should submit the accomplished CHED StuFAPs Application (StuFAPs Form 1) directly to the CHED Regional Office concerned.<\/p>\n<p>However, applicants who intend to enroll in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) shall directly submit their StuFAPs Form 1 to the concerned SUCs as stipulated in the Calendar of Activities (Annex A).<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"VL5E4-aMIBA\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"OWWA Scholar - Ms. Jessa May R. Mislang\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VL5E4-aMIBA?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>In the selection of scholars\/grantees\/borrowers, the following percentage distribution shall be used in the ranking:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Criteria\/Percentage<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>1. Academic Performance (60 points)<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>GWA \u2013 for high school graduates and for graduating high school, average of GWAs for third year level and average of the first three grading periods of fourth year level<\/li>\n<li>At least a passing grade (for those with earned\u00a0units in college) in all subjects in the last two (2) semesters<\/li>\n<li>ALS \u2013 Accreditation and Equivalency Test<\/li>\n<li>Passer Certificate (maximum of 80 percent)<\/li>\n<li>PEPT \u2013 Advancing to College Level Certificate (maximum of 80 percent)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>2. Annual Gross Income (40 points)<\/em><br \/>\nTotal Points: 100<\/p>\n<p><strong>FINANCIAL BENEFITS<\/strong><br \/>\nThe package of financial assistance to scholars\/grantees\/borrowers shall cover the completion of the degree program. The financial benefits per academic year (AY) are as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scholarship<\/strong><br \/>\nA. SSP<br \/>\nFull Scholarship: PhP 30,000<br \/>\nPartial Scholarship: PhP 15,000<\/p>\n<p><strong>B. PESFA: PhP 15,000<\/strong><br \/>\nGrants-in-Aid<br \/>\nTulong Dunong PhP 6,000<br \/>\nper academic year based on PhP 9,000<br \/>\ntuition and other fees of HEIs PhP 12,000<br \/>\nStudy Now Pay Later Plan PhP 15,000<\/p>\n<p><strong>Modes of Payment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The release of financial benefits shall be as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Mode 1 \u2013 CHEDROs release financial benefits directly to scholars \/ grantees \/ borrowers;<br \/>\nMode 2 \u2013 CHEDROs transfer financial benefits to scholars \/ grantees \/ borrowers through HEIs with ten (10) or more beneficiaries; and<br \/>\nMode 3 \u2013 CHEDROs transfer financial benefits to scholars \/ grantees \/ borrowers through authorized banks.<\/p>\n<p>Academic requirement for application<\/p>\n<p><strong>For incoming freshmen<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>For fourth year high school applicants: third year grades and first three grading periods of fourth year;<\/li>\n<li>For high school graduates fourth year report card (form 138)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>For applicants with earned units in college<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Certificate of grades in all subjects in completed semesters<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>For other applicants<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>ALS \u2013 Accreditation and Equivalency Test Passer Certificate<\/li>\n<li>PEPT \u2013 Certificate of Advancing to the Next Level<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Other requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Any one of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) of parents or guardian,<\/li>\n<li>Certificate of Tax Exemption from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR),<\/li>\n<li>Certificate of Indigency from their Barangay,<\/li>\n<li>Case Study from Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), or Affidavit of No Income<\/li>\n<li>For children of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and seafarers, a latest copy of contract or proof of income may be considered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2. Certificate of good moral character from the last school attended.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements for the processing of financial benefits of scholars, grantees and borrowers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>For new scholars, grantees and borrowers:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Copy of notice of award;<\/li>\n<li>Copy of Certificate of Enrollment\/Registration Form or Official Receipt of Payment; and<\/li>\n<li>StuFAPs Contract<\/li>\n<li>for scholars and grantees \u2013 CHED Scholarship\/Grant Agreement (StuFAPs Form 9.2)<\/li>\n<li>for borrowers \u2013 SNPLP Loan Agreement (StuFAPs Form 9.3)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>For on-going scholars, grantees and borrowers:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Photocopy of the certificate of enrollment\/registration form;<\/li>\n<li>Certified true copy of grades during the previous semester issued by the registrar or his\/her authorized school representative; and<\/li>\n<li>Photocopy of valid school ID, upon claim of financial benefits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Guidelines for\u00a0scholars, grantees and borrowers<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enroll in identified priority courses in duly authorized HEIs;<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a weighted average grade of at least 2.5, B or 80% for scholars, and a weighted average grade of at least a passing grade for grantees and borrowers;<\/li>\n<li>Carry a normal academic load and finish within the duration of the course or curricular program;<\/li>\n<li>Transfer only to duly authorized higher education institutions and to identified priority courses upon approval of concerned CHEDRO; and<\/li>\n<li>Request approval from CHEDRO to defer enrolment during the semester for meritorious reasons for not more than one AY in the whole duration of the academic program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong> Grounds for termination of scholarship\/grant\/loan<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Failure to maintain at least a weighted average grade of 2.5, B or 80% for scholars and a passing grade for grantees and borrowers within a given term;<\/li>\n<li>Dropping out from school without notifying the CHEDRO concerned;<\/li>\n<li>Deferment of scholarship\/grant\/loan without approval from CHEDRO;<\/li>\n<li>Carrying academic load below the normal number of units prescribed by the HEI for the term;
