Filipino Driver Stabs Dead Fellow OFW in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

A Filipino died after he was stabbed by his Filipino co-worker in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, a report from the Department of Foreign Affairs said.

Citing reports from the Philippine Consulate in Jeddah, the DFA said the fatality was a 29-year-old man native of the town of Datu Odin Sinsuat in Maguindanao and employed as a family driver in the Saudi Arabian port city.

Consul General Edgar Badajos said the victim was stabbed by a fellow Filipino who also works as a driver for the same Saudi family.

Reports say the two allegedly engaged in a fist-fight in front of their employer’s house. This scuffle ended in the deadly stabbing of the victim.

The suspect, a 34-year-old man who hails from Capiz, was immediately arrested by Saudi police and remains in detention.

The Consulate General and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Jeddah will extend full assistance to both Filipinos and their respective families, Consul General Edgar Badajos assured.
