Filipino Teacher in US Arrested for Sexual Abuse
A Filipino teacher suspected of sexually abusing his 9-year-old student in Landover, Maryland has been arrested Tuesday.
According to Prince George Police, Erwin Magnaye, 39, was charged with sexually abusing a minor and a second-degree assault, among other sex offenses.
Police authorities said the victim’s mother reported to police that Magnaye “kissed her son in a classroom” and also “touched him inappropriately” a number of times since September 2014. The teacher has since been under surveillance by the Prince George Police Department for months and his arrest was conducted after months of investigation and enough evidence was gathered.
After his arrest, Magnaye has been placed under administrative leave, according to Prince George County School’s spokesperson.
