{"id":5468,"date":"2017-03-29T23:39:15","date_gmt":"2017-03-29T23:39:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pinoy-ofw.com\/jobs\/?p=5468"},"modified":"2017-03-29T23:39:15","modified_gmt":"2017-03-29T23:39:15","slug":"dole-mulls-review-of-deployment-ban-to-libya-amid-demand-for-filipino-workers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pinoy-ofw.com\/jobs\/5468-dole-mulls-review-of-deployment-ban-to-libya-amid-demand-for-filipino-workers.html","title":{"rendered":"DOLE Mulls Review of Deployment Ban to Libya Amid Demand For Filipino Workers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Labor and Employment is eyeing a review of an existing deployment ban of Filipino workers to Libya.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have an existing moratorium on sending our OFWs to Libya,\u201d Labor Undersecretary Dominador Say said. \u201cI want to have it reviewed because, according to Libyan nationals, there are areas of Libya that are already peaceful, like the oil fields which are protected by the military.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Say, three weeks ago, Libyan employers have approached DOLE saying they were in need of Filipino workers, notably in the oil sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I told them my hands are tied because we have an existing ban,\u201d Say said. \u201cBut they insisted that, as far as the oil industry is concerned, it is safe because it is being protected by the Libyan military.
