The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration has reiterated its warning to applicants of housekeeping jobs in Japan to first check with its office before entering into an employment agreement after reports that a new fraudulent online recruitment scheme in Japan is targeting Filipinos aspiring to work as maids or caregivers in the country.<\/p>\n
According to Manila Bulletin, POEA Administrator Hans Cacdac’s office has reportedly received a report that a website has been illegally using the name of a recruitment agency, Corinth Global Services, offering fake job orders for Japan.<\/p>\n
\u201cCorinth Global has no registered job orders for housekeepers and caregivers in Japan. The recruitment of caregivers for Japan is only through the POEA,\u201d Cacdac said.<\/p>\n
Cacdac urged people interested to work in Japan to always first check with the POEA if a recruitment agency has any valid job orders for the position they are applying for.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet us be careful against groups which are using the names of licensed recruitment agencies in conducting illegal recruitment. Let us be informed to avoid becoming a victim,\u201d said Cacdac.<\/p>\n
The POEA Governing Board has already allowed the deployment of Filipina housekeepers to Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture but it has yet to officially register any recruitment agency to process recruitment.<\/p>\n
Potential jobseekers for overseas work could validate information in any of the offices of POEA, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, and the Department of Labor and Employment.<\/p>\n
