As an example, an applicant should check the NOC to see which occupation types are classified as &#8220;skilled&#8221; (those under Skill Type 0 or Skill Levels A or B).<\/p>\n<p>Skill Type 0 &#8211; management jobs.<br \/>\nExamples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>restaurant managers<\/li>\n<li>mine managers<\/li>\n<li>shore captains<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skill Level A \u2014 professional jobs. Such occupations usually require university degrees.<br \/>\nExamples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>doctors<\/li>\n<li>dentists<\/li>\n<li>architects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skill Level B \u2014 jobs that require technical skills and skilled trades. Such occupations usually need a college diploma or receive training as apprentice to perform these jobs.<br \/>\nExamples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>chefs<\/li>\n<li>electricians<\/li>\n<li>plumbers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skill Level C \u2014 intermediate jobs. Such occupations require high school education and job-specific training.<br \/>\nExamples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>truck drivers<\/li>\n<li>butchers<\/li>\n<li>food servers<\/li>\n<li>baristas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skill Level D \u2014 labour jobs. Such occupations are often given on-the-job training.<br \/>\nExamples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>cleaners<\/li>\n<li>oil field workers<\/li>\n<li>fruit pickers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a skilled immigrant applying through Express Entry program, your job must be in either type 0, A or B. The Express Entry system manages applications for permanent residence if you want be considered:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>as a Federal Skilled Worker,<\/li>\n<li>under the Federal Skilled Trades Program,<\/li>\n<li>or under the Canadian Experience Class.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If your job is skill level C or D:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>you may be able to come to Canada as a provincial nominee, as long as it is not in a program for skilled workers, or<\/li>\n<li>you may be able to work here for up to two years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>People who come to work on a temporary basis are not permanent residents.
