How to Get Police Certificates in GCC for Canada Application

It is not required to submit police certificate upon application of Canadian permanent residence. Citizenship and Immigration Canada will send you a letter requesting a police certificate after you send your Application for Permanent Residence. You must bring that letter when you apply for a Police Certificate.

Bahrain

You must apply in person at the Criminal Investigation Directorate (CID) (see Special notes and considerations for complete address) and bring:

  • The letter from the Embassy of Canada requesting the Good Conduct Certificate
  • Your completed Good Conduct Certificate application form (PS/CID/30) (You can get an application form from the CID)
  • A copy of pages 1-4 of your passport
  • A copy of all previous Bahraini resident permits
  • A full set of fingerprints taken by your local police authority
  • 3 photographs (4×5 cm) with white background
  • Applicable fees

Kuwait

You must apply in person OR ask a representative (a friend, relative or colleague) in Kuwait, with a power of attorney, to apply on your behalf (see Special notes and considerations for complete address) and bring:

  • The letter from the Embassy of Canada requesting the Good Conduct Certificate
  • One photograph (4 × 6 cm)

Oman

Certificates are only available to people who have lived in Oman for six months or more.

If you have lived in Oman for six months or more, you must apply in person at the Director of Criminal Investigations (see Special notes and considerations for complete address). When you apply you must bring:

  • A letter from your Omani sponsor requesting a Clearance Certificate.
  • Your completed application form
  • A copy of your passport, including the pages with your residence stamps for the time you stayed in Oman.
  • Two photographs (4×4 cm) with a blue background
  • Original fingerprints
  • Applicable fees

If you have not lived in Oman for six months or more, you are not required to provide an Omani police certificate. If you are asked for a police certificate from Oman, write: “I cannot provide a police certificate for the time I spent in Oman because certificates are only available to people who have lived in Oman for six months or more.”

Qatar

Saudi Arabia

A police certificate request letter will be sent to you by mail after your application for Permanent Residence has been received. You must present this letter, along with valid identification and proof of legal residency in Saudi Arabia to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If they approve you, the letter will give you the address to the police headquarters where you must go and apply in person.

If your application is being processed at the Canadian High Commission in London, you are not required to get a police certificate until the London visa office sends you a police certificate request letter with instructions on how to apply.

For applications being processed at any other office, request letters can be requested by e-mail:riyadh.visa@international.gc.ca or fax: 966-1-488-9657. Please include the file number, the office where you applied and your mailing address.

If you are applying at the Canadian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, UAE, you should submit a police certificate with your application. You can contact the visa office for a request letter at fax: (971 2) 694-0396 or e-mail: abu-dhabi-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca. Please include your immigration file number if you have one.

United Arab Emirates

You may either apply:

  1. In person OR ask a representative (a friend, relative or colleague) in the UAE, with a power of attorney, to apply on your behalf at the police department in your emirate (see Special notes and considerations for complete list).
  2. OR online.

You or your representative must bring:

  • Your passport and your Emirates ID card
  • A copy of your valid resident visa
  • One (4×6 cm) photograph
  • Applicable fees

You only need to give one (1) police clearance from any emirate in the UAE
