Cebu Pacific has just launched its maiden Manila-Melbourne flight on August 14, 2018. The only low-cost carrier operating the route, Cebu Pacific, offers thrice weekly services using its Airbus A330 aircraft fleet.
The airline flies Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and a one-way seat sale of P3,999 is on offer until August 20, or until promotion seats are sold out.Travel period is from October 01, 2018 to March 30, 2019.
But even after the seat sale, lowest year-round fares are about 60% cheaper than other airlines operating this segment.
“This new route will enable more Australian travelers—from adventure-seekers to leisure tourists to families on holiday—to discover the paradise that is the Philippines,” said Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing and distribution.
“This will enable more Filipino immigrants, or Australians of Filipino descent, to discover their roots or visit family and friends more often,” added Iyog.
There are more than 300,000 residents in Australia of Filipino descent, with more than 68,000 based in Melbourne area. The city becomes the second Australian city to be served by Cebu Pacific after the Manila-Sydney route opened in 2014.
