Filipino Woman Admits 284 Charges of Visa Fraud in New Zealand
A Filipino woman facing multiple charges of visa fraud involving the entry of Filipino dairy workers in New Zealand has pleaded guilty before the Hamilton District Court.
Loraine Jayme, 35, who holds a dual Filipino-New Zealand citizenship, admitted the 284 charges, which included forgery, supplying false information and obtaining information by deception.
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment filed the case against Jayme after it discovered anomalies involving work visa applications submitted by Filipinos to work in New Zealand’s dairy industry.
Jayme was arrested in October last year, following an investigation by Immigration New Zealand.
The court will issue its verdict in October.
