Everything seems to be in place and everyone seems to be ready for the upcoming absentee voting for Filipinos in Hong Kong and Singapore. This marks the first automated election for overseas Filipinos.

Filipinos in the two Asian cities were the priorities of the program because of their proximity to the Philippines and their relatively large voting population. There are 31,851 overseas absentee voters in Singapore, and 95,355 in Hong Kong.
Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Gregorio Larrazabal said a total of 50,000 sample ballots have been printed to be used by Comelec in its information drive regarding the forthcoming elections. The poll body has also brought election 10,000 fliers for the purpose.
