russian-winter-olympics-teamSo you want to work in Russia, eh?

And you think you are in heaven when you received an e-mail from somebody who claims to be connected with the Russian Olympic Committee. He says there is a job for you at the Russian Olympic Committee. Perhaps for the love of harsh Siberian winter, beautiful Russian women or the allure of St Basil’s Square, you forgot to think how in the world did someone in Russia got interested to hire you as an employee of the Russian Olympic Committee.

The email further mentions that one requirement to realizing this job is to get a plane ticket to Moscow and secure a tourist visa through travel agents. Once in Moscow, someone will follow up your application and give you an extra piece of warm jacket.

Without asking if you speak Russian, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) sincerely believes such job does not exist and may be a front to certain illegal activities. Foreigners holding commercial visas in Russia are not allowed to work. POEA advises against pursuing such dream job of yours. Otherwise, it may be hard to bail you out of your misery in case you fall into the trap.

Applicants who want to work in Russia should undergo the legal process of OFW documentation at the POEA.
