The acting director of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration- Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Datu Aladdin Ampatuan, informs that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is set to hire an estimate of 2000 Muslim nurses.
Ampatuan advised nursing graduates in the ARMM to take advantage of this chance to work abroad. The official said that the nurses to be hired will be assigned in hospitals located in the cities of Medina and Mecca.
There is also a shortage of skilled applicants such as engineers and construction workers in the said cities. In connection with this, Ampatuan call on the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority to offer skills training for people who want to work in the construction industry.
He said, “There is a stiff competition from other countries in as far as the quality of construction workers is concerned that’s why we need to upgrade our manpower’s skills so that we will not be left out.”
