Many jobseekers are not letting the opportunity to work abroad slip by.
Melissa Ladaga went all the way from Compostela Valley to Manila to take a shot at being employed. She immediately travelled to Manila after hearing the news about 700 job openings in Dubai.

“Naisip ko mag-apply kasi mukhang may chance matanggap kasi ang hirap na rin makapag work dito saka para maka-support na din sa family,” said Ladaga.
Ladaga said it’s been years since she graduated from college, but she remains jobless until now.
Ladaga is among the hundreds of applicants who went to the CDK International Manpower Recruitment office to apply as gasoline attendants or customer service staff in Dubai.
The gas station accepts even those who only reached high school level.
CDK’s President Tita Morales said petroleum companies in Dubai have recruited Filipino workers several times.
“Lagi nila sinasabi na Filipinos are good in customer service and they are friendly and they are very dedicated to their jobs,” Morales said.
Other job openings are also up for grabs in Dubai but with a different set of job requirements.
Those with at least one-year work experience can apply as balloon decorators, magicians or hairdressers. They can also apply as cashiers, butchers, beauty consultants or bakers.
Meanwhile, those who graduated from any 4-year course and have 2 to 3 years of work experience can apply as party hosts or customer representatives in Dubai.
The processing of job applications to Dubai only takes 24 hours. Those who will be hired will not be charged a placement fee.
The employer will also shoulder their housing and transportation expenses.
