The Philippine Embassy in Cairo has warned against accepting job offers for domestic workers in Sudan, saying such work is not allowed in the country.
The Embassy cautioned against taking offers from recruiters who promise work in the northeastern African country by entering through the use of a mere tourist visa and having it changed later to a working visa.
In a release posted on the website of the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy reiterated that working as a domestic worker is still prohibited in Sudan.
“Many Filipinos have been at risk for trying to work as domestic workers in this country,” the release stated.
The Embassy thus reminded workers to make sure that they have with them their working permits, visa and employment contracts to ensure that they are entering Sudan legally.
Workers should likewise read and understand what is stated in their contracts; check that these have the signature of the employer and recruiter; and legalized by the Embassy and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
As of 2009, the POEA has registered 1,540 OFWs workers in Sudan.

We are looking for someone to get Kids ready in the morning, prepare and clear up the family's breakfast, make the beds, and take the children to school.
The Au Pair would then need to pick them up in the afternoon and look after the kids until we get back home from work.
We have a very hardworking cleaner, so there will not be any heavy housework. There is a bit of light cleaning and laundry so there would be more free time in the day to go to language school if applicable.
Au-pair Accommodation:
The Au Pair would have her own room, which is huge, and has a double bed, with sitting area and TV/DVD/Video/Hi Fi. There is wireless broadband internet in the house. The Au Pair will have access to a personal car to run around if he/she knows how to drive.
Working Hours:
07:30 to 09:00 and 1500 to 1900Plus about 50-80 minutes of housework a day to fit in with the Au Pair's schedule. 22-28 hours a week.
Benefits:
The Au Pair will be paid a Weekly Salary of 650 Pounds and a pocket
money of 80 Pounds per weekend. I will also be responsible for some of
the funds for your traveling documents.
