Filipino Delicacies at Gulf Paradise in Qatar

A taste of the best Filipino cuisine are up for food lovers to savour at the Gulf Paradise Hotel when the hotel will launch on Sunday a week-long “Philippine Food Festival” as their tribute to the 112th Philippine Independence Day celebration in Qatar.

Officials of the Philippine Embassy in Qatar and invited journalists got the first taste of the different most loved Philippine dishes during the press conference yesterday at the hotel.

Fouzi Mohideen, General Manager of Gulf Paradise Hotel, has assured guests the first ever food festival will offer authentic mouth watering finest Filipino cuisine during the nightly buffet dinner at the hotel lobby’s “Al Thoraya Restaurant.”

“We are confident of holding this festival because we have a very good team of Filipino chefs,” Mohideen said. He added the food festival will continue every year particularly during Philippine Independence Day celebrations.

At the taste lunch yesterday, Filipino chef Leandro prepared a buffet of popular Filipino salad appetisers including Kilawin Pipino, Tokwa, Dilis fried dried fish, Smoked Tinapa fish and Manggang Hilaw pickles while favourite typical Filipino food like Chicken Adobo, Daing na Bangus, Kare-kare, Pansit and Pinakbet were also served.

“Filipino recipes vary from one place to another but we will try our best to serve food that is really authentic,” said Chef Leandro who counts 26 years experience in different hotels in the Middle East. He will have a support of three other Filipino chefs.

The buffet dinner will be served to the guest at QR60 for every adult and QR39 for children under 12 during the promotion daily from 7pm to 11pm.

Philippine Ambassador to Qatar Crescente Relacion has urged his countrymen and other nationalities to visit and enjoy the food festival for them to have the real taste of the authentic best Filipino dishes.
